Michelle MacLaren leaves Wonder Woman movie. Tiger sidekick is the reason?

Yesterday it was revealed that director Michelle MacLaren left the Wonder Woman movie project, according to THR. She was a strong choice, since she had directed highly-acclaimed shows like Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad. What was the reason behind her dropping out of the project out of the blue?

Well, as it turns out, MacLaren and Warner Bros. were butting heads often, according to Badass Digest.

“MacLaren and Warner Bros couldn’t agree on anything – including what time period to set the movie,” reports the site. “More than that, MacLaren had some very particular visions for the film, visions that maybe would have alienated fandom. Although perhaps Diana having a tiger sidekick/pet she could talk with would have appealed to people more than I expect.”

A tiger sidekick? Hmmmm…

It’s sad that Warner Bros. and MacLaren couldn’t agree on things, if the reports are true. Could this be the reason why Warner Bros’ track record isn’t that great when it comes to movies outside of Batman? What do you guys think?

Back at the Marvel Studios camp, they are probably very happy that they have a great relationship with the Russo brothers, brothers who went from Community to directing Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And now they’ll be doing Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1 and 2.

So far Wonder Woman is still set for a June 23, 2017, release. Gal Gadot will make an appearance as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when it hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
