Pinocchio: The Making of the Disney Epic takes you through the history of the making of Pinocchio

If you’re a film buff then most likely you’re probably fascinated by how films are made. Each and every aspect of how films are put together interests you no matter what genre it is. In 1940, Walt Disney released his second feature film: Pinocchio and revolutionized how animated films are made. The film set the bar through Walt Disney’s groundbreaking achievements in animation and sound effects. It’s one of the few Disney films (7 total) to earn a place on the roster of the National Film Registry.

To help celebrate the film’s 75th anniversary, J.B. Kaufman, together with the Walt Disney Family Foundation, traces the complete history of the making of Pinocchio with Pinocchio: The Making of the Disney Epic. The hardcover book will cover everything from the inner workings of the Golden Age of Animation to the various story changes including the reason why Jiminy Cricket almost didn’t make it into the film. These stories are all combined with over 300 photographs, illustrations and concept sketches, many never before seen until now.

“Pinocchio: The Making of the Disney Epic” is set to be released on May 26, 2015.
