Freddie Prinze Jr not down with ‘She’s All That’ remake

News has just broke that The Weinstein Co. and Miramax will remake the teen romantic comedy, She’s All That. The film was originally released in 1999 and was a massive hit that launched the careers of Freddie Prinze Jr (Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age: Inquisition Star Wars Rebels), Rachel Leigh Cook and Paul Walker (Furious 7). The film grossed a whopping $103 million despite mixed reactions from critics.

Spike Lee’s wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, will produce the film and relatively unknown Kenny Leon will direct the film. No actors are currently attached to the film.

So far the news has not gotten the greatest of receptions, especially from former lead actor Freddie Prinze Jr. The now 39-year-old actor posted on Twitter his thoughts about Miramax’s plans to remake the ’90s classic.

“You know, just Hollywood running out of ideas one more time. But what’s new? Tough for writers with original scripts.”

If I can ask for one small change from the original; please NO PROM DANCE-OFF.
