WonderCon 2015: World of Capcom panel and Ryu statue coming to SDCC

IMG_2886Capcom was at WonderCon 2015, and fans could visit the Capcom store, Monster Hunter Caravan and autograph signings for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and the Dead Rising Watchtower movie.

The first Capcom panel, The World of Capcom, was moderated by Capcom’s Senior Director Marketing Francis Mao. He introduced the other members of the panel including Dead Rising Watchtower Director Zach Lipovsky, who talked about working on the film alongside with Capcom.

The panel talked about all things Capcom, including the recently opened Six Flags Magic Mountain: Monster Hunter Caravan Tour, the free monthly DLC for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and the recently released DmC: Devil May Cry the Definitive Edition and Resident Evil 2 Revelations.

IMG_2889We were shown a trailer for DmC, and after that the trailer for Devil May Cry 4 Special, which is being developed for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Similar to DmC, Devil May Cry 4 SE will have upgraded graphics running at 1080p at 60 fps.

Trish, Vergil, and for the first time ever Lady will be playable, and each one will have their own unique style.

The Legendary Dark Knight Mode, which was only released on the PC version of Devil May Cry 4, will be added to the Special Edition, giving players an even bigger challenge. We also learned there is still more being added to the game that still hasn’t been announced yet.

IMG_2892Two years ago Capcom revealed a Limited Edition Mega Man statue, which lit up when connected to a USB power source. This year Capcom announced that Street Fighter’s Ryu would be released starting this year at Comic-Con.

The Ryu statue is 10″ tall. It connects to any USB power source to light up from its base, as well as Ryu’s Haoduken. While the statue will be available at Comic-Con, it will also be sold at the Capcom Store in limited quantities.

No new news for Street Fighter V was given. The Nash (Charlie) trailer was shown and Francis announced that more information on the game will be released at E3. The game will be released on the PlayStation 4 and PC next year.
