Ness is one of three more amiibo confirmed as store exclusives

No one could imagine the horrors that would come with Nintendo releasing store exclusive amiibo for the Super Smash Bros. line only in North America.

First we learned GameStop would be releasing Xenoblade’s Shulk as an exclusive, which made sense since the game was originally released only via GameStop. Rosalina was a Target exclusive, and pre-orders sold out quickly. Toys ‘R’ Us had a huge issue with pre-orders regarding canceled emails, which caused panic and lines of people lining up for Meta Knight at Best Buy if they didn’t pre-order him early enough.

Well just when you thought it was over, the recent Nintendo direct confirmed that store exclusives are back. The next wave is set to release on May 29th and will include 8 more amiibo. Only Ness, Jigglypuff and Greninja will be store exclusives.

Ness was confirmed to be a GameStop exclusive (via a Gamestop twitter post). Shortly after the Nintendo Direct concluded, Target posted a page up for Jigglypuff pre-orders, leaving Greninja to be the announced more than likely by Toys ‘R’ Us.

Good luck to all the collectors out there.
