Star Wars: Rogue One to feature Death Star and Aaron Paul?

With news of Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars spin-off film being called Rogue One, fans have been wondering what it is going to be about. There is a lot of mystery surrounding the project, but so far we know Felicity Jones will be starring in it, and it will be coming to theaters next year.

Previous rumors suggest that the movie is about a heist where the characters steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. Another rumor has Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) attached as the co-star. Now there are more rumors floating around, courtesy of Making Star Wars.

  • The site’s sources say that Rogue One has some months to go before filming can start.
  • Aaron Paul is still in the running to play, says one source, and he’s likely going to play a “companion” character for Jones.
  • An agricultural planet will be the main location.
  • The Scientist role will probably be played by Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), who was recently reported to be in the film.
  • The Death Star plan is still going to be featured.
  • Scientists know that the Death Star is bad. (Are they the ones working on it?)
  • Geonosians are behind the prototype and its construction of the Death Star.

Another big mystery is the Rogue One title. Will we get to see the Rogue Squadron with the X-wings taking flight? Is a group of bounty hunters still involved in capturing the Death Star plan? Hopefully we’ll find out soon enough once shooting begins this summer in London.

Star Wars: Rogue One hits theaters on December 16, 2016.
