Marvel Studios started something with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now we have other studios joining in on the action including Warner Bros. and its slate of DC films, Fox’s X-Men and its spin-offs, and more. Movie studios are even going beyond just comic book films by doing this to their other franchises.

Paramount Pictures, Michael Bay and Lorenzo di Bonaventura, with the help from Akiva Goldsman, will be working on creating a Transformers cinematic universe. The plan is to create sequels, to be shot back to back, and spin-offs, according to Deadline.

Goldsman’s job is to assemble and look over the writing room so that they can figure out the best way to handle the two-part sequel and possible spin-offs. He would also like to join the producer group that includes Bay, di Bonaventura and Steven Spielberg.

Will Bay be returning to direct? Right now he’s busy with the pre-production for 13 Hours.

Goldsman has worked on films like I Am Legend, The Da Vinci Code and Insurgent.
