Nerd Block March 2015 – Looking inside the monthly mystery box
Nerd Block is a monthly subscription box service offering nerdy collectibles for $19.99 a month, plus shipping and handling. This month has Simon Pegg (Star Trek, Shaun of the Dead) as a special nerd celebrity having the honor to pick the theme and items for March 2015.
First up on the list is the Shaun of the Dead t-shirt. Personally, I’m not a fan of the illustration, since it feels uninspired. (I mean, it looks like somebody else is offering him a drink.)
The next top item is the do-it-yourself Munnyworld vinyl toy. It’s inside a mystery box, so you may get a different color. You can paint or draw or place stickers on it. It’s a cute figure and great for those who love to customize.
If you’re a fan of Simon Pegg, then this one’s going to be a treat for you. It’s an autobiography that contains 359 pages. It’s said that Pegg was insistent on including this in this month’s Nerd Block.
With April Fool’s coming up, the Joker prank pack is the one for you. It includes fake bugs inside ice cubes and a whoopee cushion with Harley Quinn on it.
Guardians of the Galaxy fans get two items. One is the magnet and the other is the Nerd Block exclusive Guardians of the Galaxy Nesting Dolls (you know, those old-school Russian dolls). For the magnet, we got Rocket Raccoon.
It all depends on your preference. As for me, I’m not a fan of Munnyworld vinyl figures, and the other toys are more like filler, and the t-shirt design could be a lot better. The only item that I’ll likely get some mileage from is the Simon Pegg autobiography.
Did you guys get this month’s Nerd Block? If so, let me know what you think.
