The Flash cast members sing an Ode to Joss Whedon for his contribution to their Kickstarter

We knew The Flash stars Grant Gustin and Jesse L Martin were talented singers, but did you know Carlos Valdes and Rick Cosnett were also singer/songwriters. As a thank you to Joss Whedon for contributing “an outstanding amount” to their independent Kickstarter Project, The Letter Carrier, Jesse L. Martin, Carlos Valdes, and Rick Cosnett sang a gospel version of The Ballad of Serenity from Whedon’s cult hit Firefly.

The Letter Carrier is an independent project written by Martin, directed by Cosnett/Martin, with music arranged by Valdes/Martin, and produced by Patrick Sabongui/Martin/Cosnett. It will be a short 10-minute film using music to tell the story of a family hidden in the secluded mountains who grew up with the fear of folklore known as The Letter Carrier.

Official synopsis:

A mother hides her family from slavery in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The children have grown up with a tale of a man known as The Letter Carrier. As the legend goes, he roams the mountains looking for children to sell as slaves. Painted against this historical backdrop, it is a raw, mysterious, and interpretive fable. Told through a cappella song, using original folk music, spirituals and a score using only natural sounds.
