Jason Voorhees joins Mortal Kombat X

mortal kombat x jason voorhees

We are just about one month away from the launch of the latest entry to the Mortal Kombat franchise, and on today… Friday the 13th… it has been revealed that slasher film icon Jason Vorhees will become available to the game via DLC called the ‘Kombat Pack’.

The Kombat pack will be included with the special editions of MKX or purchased separately for $29.99. It was also announced that both Kenshi and Shinnok will be available through the same character pack, and at least one more guest fighter is expected to be announced, the front-runner looks to be Spawn.

As of late Mortal Kombat has really become one of the worst fighting games in terms of what you get at launch and what Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios expects its fans to buy post launch. History showed us with MK9 that they talk as if they are going to support the game and continuously add DLC characters long term, which to them is less than one year. The game launched in February and the DLC pack came in June and the Komplete Edition of the game dropped exactly one year after the initial launch.

Insider tip to the casual Mortal Kombat fans out there, wait a year and buy the Komplete Edition of MKX that I’m predicting will become available April 14th 2016. If you have more patients shortly after April 14th, 2016, the game will get a steep discount on steam and retailers across the country.

Mortal Kombat X is set to release April 14. 2015.
