The Walking Dead companion series ordered for two seasons, plus new still

AMC has ordered two seasons for the upcoming untitled The Walking Dead companion series. A new photo has been released along with the announcement. The series will contain six one-hour episodes and will premiere on AMC this year in the late summer, with the second season premiering in 2016. It will take place in Los Angeles with new characters and stories.

The show is being executive produced by The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert. Dave Erickson (Marco Polo, Sons of Anarcy) will be the showrunner along with co-creating and co-writing the pilot with Kirkman.

The series will star Cliff Curtis (Training Day), Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, Sons of Anarchy), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm).
