RIP Spock – Leonard Nimoy passes away at the age of 83
We’ve reported earlier that Leonard Nimoy was taken to the hospital, but now with sad news, it’s reported that the Star Trek actor has passed away. He died Friday morning in the Los Angeles Bel Air section at his home at the age of 83.
Susan Bay Nimoy, his wife, said that the cause was due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Nimoy made the announcement that he had the disease last year. Even though he quit smoking for three decades, it seems that his previous smoking habit caught up to him.
Nimoy captivated hearts as the Vulcan named Spock in the Star Trek series. He was recently seen as an older Spock in the J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness. Transformers fans got to hear his voice as Sentinel Prime in Michael Bay’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and as Galvatron in the animated film, The Transformers: The Movie.
Here is Nimoy’s final tweet.
A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP
