More evidence that Superman will appear in Supergirl series for CBS

There is a lot of hype surround CBS’ Supergirl, headed by Arrow and The Flash showrunner Greg Berlanti. Recently rumors have begun to spread that Kara Zor-El’s cousin, Superman, may have a role in the new series. This was further proven by a recent casting call looking for a 5’11” or taller, “Square Jawed” body double with a “ripped physique.”

To further feed fan’s speculation, a new audition tape recently surfaced from an actress seeking the lead role as Supergirl. The role of course went to Melissa Benoist, but in the audition the actress reads from a scene where Kara says goodbye to her mother and father before Krypton is destroyed. The scene is important because it does make a reference to Superman.

Zor-El: Your pods coordinates are interlocked with Kal-El’s. You will follow him to Earth.

Kara: I’m not afraid, father.

Zor-El: You are so like your mother.

Alura: The trip is long, but you will sleep most of the way. And we will be with you in your dreams. You’ll journey to Earth to watch over your baby cousin, Kal-El. Because of Earth’s yellow sun you will have great powers on this planet. You’ll be able to do extraordinary things.

Kara: I won’t fail Kal-El, mother. Or, you.

While it might seem like nothing at first, it is interesting that some of the other audition tapes that were uploaded have been recently taken down. This could be the work of CBS not wanting too much of the show leaked out before its premiere.

Will Superman make an appearance in Supergirl TV series? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
