Hugh Jackman wants to play Wolverine until he dies

Birdman is a movie following a washed-up actor who used to play a popular super hero. After watching that movie, actor Hugh Jackman admits that it has definitely inspired him to keep on playing Wolverine. He told this piece of news to Cigar Aficionado, even though he hinted before that he may no longer be Wolverine.

“I said to my wife, ‘The moral is that I should never stop playing Wolverine. I’ve got to find a way to keep playing him until I die.’ I know that someday they’ll recast the role with another actor…I’d be happy if the role was eventually recast. It would mean that it had become iconic.”

Every times he plays Wolverine, Jackman reveals that he’s always trying to bring more to the character.

“I always want to be in better shape than I was for the last one. I don’t believe in stagnation. People say they try to maintain the status quo. But I believe the natural cycle means you’re either advancing and getting closer to something or you’re receding…Every time I play Wolverine I want to go further, physically and emotionally.”

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016. No word yet on whether he would be making an appearance. It’s also said that we may see a third Wolverine movie coming to theaters on March 3, 2017, with James Mangold (The Wolverine) being rumored to direct.
