Zach LaVine captivates NBA crowd with Space Jam tribute dunk

NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest has been the highlight of NBA All-Star Weekend for 30 years now. From Dwight Howard’s Superman dunk to Michael Jordan’s iconic free throw line dunk, the Slam Dunk Contest has been a showcase for the future of the NBA.

This past weekend, 19-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves player Zach LaVine brought back the Slam Dunk contest in the sweetest way possible. Like many of us, LaVine grew up watching Space Jam. He is such an avid fan that he brought out the Quad City DJs and introduced us to his “Space Jam” dunk.

LaVine’s dunk quickly went viral as his highly impressive between-the-legs reverse dunk in a Tune Squad Michael Jordan jersey won the hearts of ’90s kids and Space Jam fans everywhere. Also, you gotta love the addition of Quad City DJ’s “Space Jam” as his entrance song. It set the tone for his entire dunk contest and Michael Jordan would be proud. Now, if we can get LeBron to join the dunk contest…

What did you think of LaVine’s “Space Jam” dunk?
