Samuel L. Jackson says Marvel movies are better than DC movies
Nothing gets comic book fans more riled up than a good ol’ fashion debate on Marvel vs. DC. Marvel has been kicking ass in the movie department, and DC has been kicking ass in the TV and animated movies department. Now we have Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joining in on the debate, and this time he’s on Marvel’s side. (What a shocker!) Either way, he does make an interesting point.
Jackson tells MTV News why Marvel films are better than DC films.
“I think Marvel has figured out a way to make those movies accessible to the public that DC hasn’t. I don’t know what that is. I don’t know why you can’t get Batman and Superman or people to get as juiced up to be a part of that.”
Marvel Studios has done a great job of connecting many different superheroes into the same universe, but DC has been inspired by this and is building its own shared movie universe as well. As for Jackson saying people aren’t getting “juiced up” for that, I’ll have to disagree, since the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will definitely get people excited. Even if the film turns out to be a failure, people are going to wait in line in theaters just to see Batman fight Superman on the big screen.
Anyway, it’s a good time to be a comic book nerd. Do you agree with Samuel L. Jackson?
