Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars film to star this Star Wars Rebels character?

Disney has been doing a good job of helping Marvel Studios pump out Marvel films. It’s also doing a good job of working on new Star Wars films including a new trilogy and standalone films. One of the standalone films will be directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla), which is rumored to feature Boba Fett. (There’s even a rumor saying that Michael Fassbender might play the bounty hunter.)

Now we have two different reports about who’s in talks to play the female lead in the standalone film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything, The Amazing Spider-Man 2) is in the running to play the lead.

The rumored plot is said to feature a heist to steal Death Star plans.

As for the male leads, there’s a rumor floating around that Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) is going to star. He commented he didn’t know about it.

Chris Weitz was recently revealed as the screenwriter for the project, who’ll be rewriting the draft done by Gary Whitta (The Book of Eli).

Gareth Edwards’ standalone Star Wars film hits theaters on December 16, 2016.
