The X-Men prequels like to jump from decade to decade. X-Men: First Class was set during the Cold War in 1962, X-Men: Days of Future Past was mainly in 1973, and X-Men: Apocalypse will take place in the early ’80s. Dazzler is a mutant, singer, and entertainer known for her ’80s roots. Since Apocalypse is going to be set in the ’80s, it would make perfect sense for her to be in it. Well, executive producer and writer Simon Kinberg teases that it’s a possibility.

“That’s the era that I grew up in,” Kinberg revealed to EW. “The music, the fashion, the videogames: We really want to integrate all of that in the movie, and have it infuse the movie with a different vibe.” When asked about whether we would see Dazzler, Kinberg said, “Could happen. We’re certainly looking at mutants that would fit into the period.”

It was also reported by Entertainment Weekly earlier that Rose Byrne would be returning as Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: Apocalypse. According to Kinberg, she’ll be having a significant role.

“She’s a significant character in the movie,” says Kinberg. “We ended First Class with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them.” He continued, “It’s certainly a rich relationship that we started to dig into in First Class, and would like to mine more in this one.”

What do you think of Moira returning? Also, who wants to see Dazzler?

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
