Many fans were disappointed with the news of Scarlett Johansson starring in the live-action Ghost in the Shell movie. Well, the project is moving on forward, since Walt Disney Pictures has announced today that DreamWorks Pictures will be producing the film with a release date of April 14, 2017. It will be directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman).

Scarlett Johansson has been heavily focused on doing action movies, with films like Avengers: Age of Ultron and Lucy. Now she’ll be fighting cyberterror in the cyberpunk movie.

Ghost in the Shell is based on the manga by Masamune Shirow and follows a counter-cyberterrorist organization called Section 9, led by Major Kusanagi. The manga inspired the classic anime film of the same name in 1995.

The film will be released around some heavy hitters, including being released a week after Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim 2.
