Disney Infinity’s Ronan, Yondu and Green Goblin figure review

Disney Infinity Green Goblin, Ronan, Yondu

When Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) was released, we were treated to many heroes from the Marvel universe. Now it’s the villains’ turn. Today the Disney Infinity collection gets three new members with Green Goblin, Ronan and Yondu. You’ll be able to use the villains and outlaw inside the Toybox and also their respective Play Set.

Yondu is the outlaw leader of the Ravagers who took Star-Lord in and made him a galactic adventurer. He can be used in the Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set. He has regular melee attacks, but his long range attacks are possible with the yaka arrows.

His powers can be unlocked or upgraded including Ravager Rampage, High Jinx (super jump), Double-deal (he rolls backward and sends arrows), Alien Aggression (kicks opponent back then shoots them with arrow), Barrage in Blue (yaka arrow ricochet between targets), Stunning Move (yaka arrow stuns enemies), and more.

The figure is based on the Guardians of the Galaxy film look with actor Michael Rooker as Yondu. He’s got a short Mohawk with a yaka arrow revealed inside his trenchcoat. He doesn’t really have an action pose, since he looks like he’s getting ready to use his arrow on a poor soul.

Ronan the Accuser

Next up is the main villain of Guardians of the Galaxy, Ronan the Accuser. He is playable in the Guardians of the Galaxy Play Set. Playing as the villain is a bit weird in story mode, since the heroes are trying to stop Ronan from taking over…yet we’re playing as Ronan who’s trying to stop Ronan. What?! Well, at least he has a compatible Play Set unlike some of the other Disney Infinity 2.0 figures. (I’m looking at you, Disney Originals.)

Ronan has basic attacks with long range attacks thanks to his hammer, the Universal Weapon. He has cool unlockable powers including cloaking, ricochet, repel, super strength, powerful leap, Ronan’s rapid fire, and more.

The Ronan figure is based on the movie version. He’s menacing and is standing confident with his hammer. It’s a very cool and sleek design.

Green Goblin

One of Spider-Man’s dangerous villain is the Green Goblin. He’s probably the most disappointing of the Disney Infinity characters, since he doesn’t come with a glider. Sure, his design is inspired by the Ultimate Green Goblin, but when playing against him in story mode, he can fly in a glider. Explain that to me. Like Ronan, playing the pumpkin thrower feels strange in story mode, since it’s like you’re fighting with yourself later on. It’s better that than nothing at all, I suppose.

His long range attack consists of chucking pumpkin bombs. His unlockable powers include Electric Glove (gauntlet that emits electrical blasts), Backhanded Insult, Bola Bombs (charges pumpkin bomb and turns it into bola that flies faster and deals more damage), Goblin Leap, and more.

Green Goblin’s figure is inspired by the look of the Ultimate Spider-Man. He’s a big and evil villain. Personally, I would have preferred the more classic look.

In the game mode, since his glider is MIA, the closest thing you can do is use a SHIELD car to hover. (The thought of the Green Goblin flying around in a SHIELD car is hilarious.)
