Avengers: Age of Ultron: Breaking down the second trailer
“I’m going to tear you apart… from the inside.” We too believe in tearing things apart, so let’s tear apart the new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer that just dropped on us.
Ultron’s Not So Humble Beginnings
It’s been reported that Tony Stark and Bruce Banner will be the ones responsible for the creation of Ultron. However, do we see the Ultron A.I. uploading his consciousness into a dismantled Avengers bot or do we see “evil” Ultron coming back to life here?
Mystery Woman #1
As we’ve learned from the last Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, Marel doesn’t just randomly throw things into their trailers for the sake of it. That’s why the reveal of this mystery woman MUST mean something. This shot makes it hard to pinpoint who this woman is but based on her wardrobe it looks like she’s Wakandan. The most popular theory is that she is Shuri, T’Challa’s younger sister but another theory is that this woman could be a member of the Dora Milaje, the Black Panther’s personal bodyguards.
Black Widow and the Red Room Academy
It looks like Joss Whedon will be giving us a look into Black Widow’s troubled past. In the comics, Natasha Romanova trained in combat and espionage at the KGB’s infamous Red Room Academy. It was also here that the Red Room Academy experiemented on Natasha, which gave her a superhuman enhanced physiology.
By the look of the trailer, we’ll be seeing the kind of experiments done on Natasha in the film.
THE KLAWWWWWW
Ever since the Andy Serkis reveal from the first trailer, many people believed that Serkis would be playing Black Panther’s arch-nemesis, Ulysses Klaw. The tooth necklace over Serkis’ neck and Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa reveal 3 months ago helps build the evidence that Serkis will be playing Ulysses Klaw in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Widow Calms Down the Hulk
Back in June, Latino-Review revealed some details about the dynamic between Natasha Romanoff and Bruce Banner. The fact that we see the Hulk completely calm in front of Natasha helps prove that Latino-Review scoop is correct.
Mystery Woman #2
Unlike the previous mystery woman, the woman at the bottom right of Thor is completely unknown to everyone. She’s lighter skinned and definitely not dressed the same, so she can’t be from Wakanda. Also, the location is vastly different than the first mystery woman. It’s a temple of some sort, complete with etches on the wall and lots of candles surrounding the area. For now, this scene is a complete mystery to everyone and there isn’t a general consensus as to what this scene signifies.
Iron Man vs. The Hulk*
Many theorized that the Hulkbuster vs. Hulk fight would be the cause of Ultron controlling the Hulkbuster suit. However, the new trailer revealed that Tony himself would actually pilot the Hulkbuster. Now, the biggest question is: What would cause the Science Bros to go against each other?
*If you look at the redness around the eyes, it’s possible that Scarlet Witch could be controlling the Hulk.
