Spider-Man composer says Amazing Spider-Man 2 was ‘dreadful’

James Horner is a legendary composer who has created music for Titanic, Avatar, Braveheart, the Star Trek films, The Rocketeer (my personal favorite), and many more. He also did the score for The Amazing Spider-Man. However, for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Hans Zimmer took over as composer and created the Magnificent Six to help with the score. I personally wasn’t a fan of the music, since I thought it really took away from the scenes in the film, like the “My Enemy” track used when Electro was mad at Spider-Man.

In an interview with the JamesHorner-FilmMusic site, Horner said that he was going to compose music for the sequel…that was until he saw it. He did say that both he and Webb “had a very good relationship,” but what he didn’t like was the producers not giving director Marc Webb a chance to give his input. The producers “had their own opinion. And they didn’t want his input.”

Here he said that the movie was “terrible.”

“To me, the whole thing about doing the movie was, I liked the director and there was a chance to write something for the two lead characters — and then she dies in the next movie. But the next movie ended up being so terrible, I didn’t want to do it. It was just dreadful.
