Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F

Anime News Network has posted a teaser picture of a new Dragon Ball Z film in the January issue of Shueisha’s V Jump magazine. It shows the title of the upcoming movie as Dragon Ball z: Fukkatsu no F (Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F).

In the visuals you see Frieza right in the middle and Beerus from Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods villain on the cover. It also shows two of Frieza’s henchmen right in front.

The release date is set to be on April 18th for both 2D and 3D in Japan. No word on when it will come to America. This will open just in time for the Golden Week holidays in Japan.

Akira Toriyama also did a small explanation on what the F stood for. He got the idea from listening to one of his favorite band’s song “F”, whom he has gotten to know personally, by Maximum the Hormone. The magazine also gives more info on the two new characters, pictured below, Sorbet (left) and Tagoma (right). They are survivors of the army and Frieza’s servants.

A small synopsis from the magazine about the movie:

An Earth where peace has arrived. However, remnants of Frieza’s army Sorbet and Tagoma (from the Japanese word for ‘egg’) arrive on the planet. Their goal is to revive Frieza with the dragon balls. Their dastardly wish is granted, the “F” that plans its revenge against the Saiyans is revived…!

Are you excited for this upcoming release? I know I am.
