Tuesday was the official release date for Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal, and a well known Sonic speedrunner known as DarkspinesSonic aka DSS has already found a few glitches in the game.

The game-breaking glitch is found via pausing the game as Knuckles is jumping via his special attack. This somehow resets his jump counter and allows him to once again jump infinitely to get passed many of the game’s obstacles, and almost skip the entire game. Amusing enough the glitch defeats the final boss without any hassle. Another speedrunner known as Parax0 has already completed the game in under an hour, which DSS first playthrough clocked in at 14 hours.

The second glitch is a sort of catch and release glitch, also found by DSS, that allows you to lasso and toss an enemy, only to catch and release again infinitely to get the games highest rank of SSS+.

It’s not over as DSS and Parax0 will continue to find what other glitches in the game in later playthroughs and optimizations to get the best time on the game.
