Star Wars: Episode VII is now officially titled

star wars episode vii the force awakens

The new Star Wars film by J.J. Abrams went by the name of Star Wars: Episode VII. Now a new teaser of the name has surfaced via the Twitter page, and it will be called Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

With the movie being wrapped up, it was only a matter of time until we get an official announcement.

What’s interesting is that this doesn’t include “Episode VII” in the title. Could it be that Abrams isn’t a fan of slapping the “episode” word in the final name? With a lot of rumors floating about, we do know that the film will take place 30 years after Return of the Jedi. We’ll get to see returning cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, and more along with new cast members.

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
