With the popularity of eSports and the fanbase of the Halo franchise, it only makes sense that Microsoft and 343 Industries are planning to create a Halo Championship Series that will put the best of the best against each other for glory and big pay outs. Twitch is joining in on the action so that fans can watch all the action.

“The ‘Halo Championship Series’, or HCS, was born of 343 Industries’ desire to curate a quality eSports experience – for pro players, enthusiasts, and spectators – by creating a single sanctioning body for Halo,” Xbox Wire explains. “Designed to foster the best environment and platform for competitive multiplayer, the HCS will showcase, sponsor and support existing tournament organizers in the growing landscape of eSports today.”

Information on Season One will be released on November 9th. Teams of four will compete both online and at events to earn points, giving them a chance to go to the finals in March 2015. Before then Microsoft and 343 will hold the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Launch Invitational Tournament on November 8th which will feature 32 of the world’s top Halo players competing for a share of a $50,000 pool. If you want to catch the action, the tournament begins at 5pm ET via the Halo Twitch channel.
