Is Marvel eyeing Jessica Chastain for Captain Marvel?
Update: Jessica Chastain has said that she hasn’t talked to Marvel about Captain Marvel.
Oops uh oh….I've never had talks about Captain Marvel. Was referring to a different film from over a year ago, in my recent MTV interview.

Jessica Chastain can be seen in Zero Dark Thirty where she tries to find the whereabouts of Osama Bin Ladin. She can also be seen up the upcoming film, Interstellar, by director Christopher Nolan. During an interview with MTV, she was asked about whether there were any more talks about her being in a Marvel film, especially after the announcement of Captain Marvel.
Chastain was originally eyed to play Maya Hansen, but ultimately declined because she wanted to be a kick-ass character in a superhero movie.
“We’ve talked about aligning our forces in the future,” Chastain said. “And here’s the thing with me… If you’re going to be in a superhero movie, you only get one chance. You’re that character forever. So why do a superhero movie and play the boring civilian?”
Clearly she wants to be a part of the action.
“Whatever it is, I want a fight scene,” Chastain continued. “I could be an incredible villain. I could be a hero. I want a cool outfit, and I want to kick ass.”
When asked about whether she knows about the Captain Marvel film, she said yes.
“Yes, I do know about that,” Chastain said quickly. “Listen, that’s 2018. We don’t know where we’ll be, maybe I’ll give up acting by then.”
The fact that she knew the year the movie’s going to come out tells us something, as if she’s keeping a close eye on the project.
