Wonder Woman movie to take place in the 1920s?

We know that Gal Gadot is getting ready for her role as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, we’re not sure how big of a role she has, but once the Wonder Woman movie comes, she’ll be taking the spotlight.

Now Bleeding Cool is reporting that the Wonder Woman film will take place in the 1920s instead of modern day, with the sequel taking place during World War II. Their source says that the first film will take place on war torn Paradise Island, the home of the Amazons. A man then shows up one day to ask for help from the Amazons. Wonder Woman leaves the island to help the man, but once she gets out, she arrives in the 1920s. Surprised? During this time, she explores a world that has just given women the right to vote. This should be interesting in her perspective, since she just left an all-female society.

After the first film, we’ll see Wonder Woman in World War II. The studio is planning on a trilogy, with the third film taking place in modern times. This is very similar to the route Marvel took with Captain America, where it was more of a period piece instead of a modern day film.

I guess we’ll find out if this is true or not once we get closer to the release date. What do you think of a 1920s Wonder Woman movie?

Wonder Woman is scheduled to be released on June 23, 2017.
