Warner Bros. looking for female directors to helm Wonder Woman?

Warner Bros. dropped a bombshell last week when it announced a bunch of solo and other live-action DC films and casting confirmations like Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ezra Miller as The Flash. The Internet was buzzing, and one of the good news was that we’re getting a stand-alone Wonder Woman flick in 2017.

Now according to Forbes, it looks like Warner Bros. is looking for a female director to helm the film about an Amazon princess starring Gal Gadot. Some of the names the company is eyeing include Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty), Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight). Mimi Leder (Deep Impact), Karyn Kusama (Girlfight), Julie Taymor (Across the Universe, Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark broadway musical), Michelle MacLaren (Game of Thrones) and Tricia Brook (The Walking Dead). Of all the directors listed, the site says that Bigelow, Leder, and Hardwicke are the main ones being considered. Although Bigelow is in the list, it seems like it’s more speculation than actual information from insiders, according to the site.

I think this is a great idea. What better way to show girl power than to have a female director directing the movie. What do you think of the news?
