Bill and Ted 3 to have many versions of Bill and Ted

I’m a big fan of time traveling movies. These include Back to the Future, Frequency, Looper, Time Cop, and of course, the Bill & Ted films. Now the last time we saw a Bill and Ted movie was back in 1991 with Bill & Ted: Bogus Journey. Now many years later, a third Bill & Ted movie is in the works and is in the writing phase. Station!

In a recent interview with Yahoo! UK, Alex Winter, who plays Bill, gives us the update on the status of Bill & Ted 3.

“[Bill & Ted] will be 40-something and it’s all about Bill and Ted grown up, or not grown up,” Winter said. “It’s really sweet and really f*****g funny.”

He then goes on to explain what the friends have been up to.

“But it’s a Bill & Ted movie, that’s what it is. It’s for the fans of Bill & Ted. It fits very neatly in the [series]. It’s not going to feel like a reboot. The conceit is really funny: what if you’re middle-aged, haven’t really grown up and you’re supposed to have saved the world and maybe, just maybe, you kinda haven’t?”

Then Winter goes on to talk about the many different versions of Bill and Ted.

“There’s many versions of ourselves in this movie,” he continues. “[It’s] answering the question: ‘What happened to these guys?’ They’re supposed to have done all this stuff, they weren’t the brightest bulbs on the tree, what happened 20 years later? To answer that question in a comedic way felt rich with possibility.”

Are you looking forward to the third film? Sound off below!
