Arrow has been getting rave reviews as well as great ratings, which lead to DC Entertainment spinning off The Flash with his own show. Now Superman’s cousin will be joining the small screen as well.

We have reported before that the show was getting shopped around. The person heading the adventure is Greg Berlanti, who is also behind Arrow and the upcoming show, The Flash. He will be teaming up with Ali Adler and Sarah Schechter.

Berlanti had this to say regarding the Supergirl show:

Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-el escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Sounds like he will be sticking with the comic books as closely as he can. Of course not all things will be staying true to the canon as you hope, but we’ll see what type of changes he will make.

No word yet on any names to play Kara, but I have the feeling they will have no issue finding the right person.
