James McAvoy will be bald Professor X for X-Men: Apocalypse

Professor X is recognizable with his wheelchair and his bald head. What was missing in the prequel X-Men films was actor James McAvoy going bald as the psychic leader. While promoting Eleanor Rigby, the actor told Huffington Post that he thinks he’s going to lose his hair in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse film.

“I’ll be older in this one,” James McAvoy said. “[And] I think I’m losing my hair finally. And, yeah, that’s kind of all I know.”

If you enjoyed McAvoy as Professor X, then this should be good news for those wanting to see him bald.

“I got an email from the [producer/writer Simon Kinberg] who informed me he was getting dead excited about stuff, but he didn’t want to divulge anything for a couple of weeks, so I really don’t know. It does seem fairly global, if we’re talking apocalypse. Maybe it’s just the character’s name, but I think the nature of the film is going to be fairly apocalyptic.”

What we know so far from writer Simon Kinberg is that it will focus on the X-Men: First Class cast, with some of the original cast involved as well.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
