Seth Rogen updates on AMC’s Preacher script

Preacher is a very dark and twisted comic book from writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon under DC’s Vertigo, and now it’s being turned into a live-action TV series on AMC. The show will be written and executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and Rogen has tweeted the update on the script.

It’s always great news to hear when a comic book writer is involved in a movie or TV show based on their work, unlike *cough* Alan Moore *cough*.

Rogen and Goldberg are known for doing comedies, so how will they handle a more serious subject matter? The comic book features funny banter between our 3 main characters, so seeing them work on the series should be interesting.

In Preacher, Jesse Custer is the preacher who is possessed by a supernatural creature named Genesis. He’s joined by his ex-girlfriend and a vampire on a journey to find god…literally.

If you’ve read Preacher, then you know that there is a lot of content there that’s not going to make it to the TV series. We’ll likely see some violent action, but will we see things like Heaven and Hell fornicating? Or perhaps seeing a boy shit his pants?

Are you excited for AMC adapting Preacher into a TV series? Or do you think the show would be in better hands on HBO or Starz?
