The trailer for season 3 of Arrow debuted during San Diego Comic-Con, teasing at the end Ra’s al Ghul, the leader of the League of Assassins. It’s highly unlikely that the CW is still looking for an actor to play that part, but that’s not stopping actor Liam Neeson from wanting to play that character again. (He played Ra’s al Ghul in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises.)

“I would, in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah,” actor Liam Neeson told MTV News when asked about playing the villain on CW’s Arrow. He also said that he was not approached about reprising the role on television. However, he did offer some advice to the actor who will portray Ra’s.

“They have to believe in their philosophy,” Neeson said. “Ra’s al Ghul absolutely believed what he was doing was ultimately saving civilization, and it was quite a good argument he comes up with. Throughout the ages this fraternity, that brought the plague to wipe out a section of mankind because it needed to be regenerated again. Very dangerous, but you have to believe it.”

Fans can only hope that this could happen, but DC’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns says otherwise earlier this summer.

“No, we will not be integrating the film universe with the television universe,” John said. He says that the TV universe is “a separate universe than film, so we can allow the best creative — the filmmakers can do their best version. They want to tell the story that’s best for film, while we do something different in a different corner of the DC Universe on television.”
