The general consensus is that Iron Man 2 is a big letdown. There was a lot of potential, but it was bogged down by subplots including Nick Fury trying to convince Iron Man to join the Avengers. Another missed opportunity was exploring more of Whiplash, portrayed by actor Mickey Rourke. While promoting Sin City: A Dame To Kill For on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he once again shows his disdain for Marvel Studios.

Rourke is very straightforward in his interviews, and here he clarifies that he’s not a Marvel fan. His gripe is that his character got edited to the point he became “one-dimensional.”

“I’m not a Marvel fan.” Meyers then asked if he’s a DC guy, to which he responds with, “I don’t know what that means. I’m a Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller fan.”

He then explains why.

“Once I did a movie for Marvel and they cut the whole f#cking thing out.”

Do you think he’s simply complaining, or does he have actual reasons to be upset with Marvel Studios?
