Check out a recent video that J.J. Abrams has put out to help support the Star Wars: Force for Change cause. By donating to UNICEF, you’ll win a chance to be in Star Wars Episode 7. The video showcases a new X-Wing, and if you compare it to the X-Wing from the original trilogy, you can tell that the designs are mostly similar. The big differences are the blue line on the side and the ship having what looks to be two engines instead of the original trilogy’s four.

Also, there’s a rumored plot leak spreading around the net, with Badass Digest saying that the movie’s opening scene will have Luke’s severed hand and lightsaber floating around in space and then landing on a desert planet. The hand and lightsaber are then discovered by two young adventurers, being played by Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. This leads to them on a mission to find the owner.

The site says that “Their quest takes them off world, and they meet up with Han Solo and Chewbacca, who aren’t flying around in the Millennium Falcon anymore … Han and Chewie recognise the lightsaber as Luke’s, and they say they haven’t seen their friend in thirty years, since the events of Return of the Jedi.”

“So begins a quest to find the missing Jedi Master. Meanwhile, on an ice planet, nefarious forces are building a super weapon, one capable of destroying not planets but entire solar systems … ”

The rumored plot is somewhat parallel to the plot in the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope.

“Instead of R2 coming to Tatooine it’s a hand falling from the sky, but the basic sweep of the story is similar, and intentionally so,” says the site. “But things that seem familiar may not be as familiar as you think – don’t assume that every ice or desert planet in the galaxy has already been visited, if you know what I’m saying.”

Disney has yet to confirm whether this is true or false.

What do you guys think? Do you think a floating hand is too ridiculous to be true? Can his hand stay intact after entering this desert planet’s atmosphere?

Star Wars Episode 7 hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
