AX 2014 – Bluefin Tamashii Nations

Bluefin Distribution/Tamashii Nations have been a big name for collectors with their different offerings from anime, video games, and pop culture franchises. While Tamashii Nations is well known in Japan for releasing some exclusive items, Bluefin Distribution makes it possible for fans outside of Japan to have a chance to get some of these awesome items, thanks to fan requests via social media.

Next the new Tamashii Buddies line was shown (also on display at the Bluefin Tamashii Nations booth) featuring Dragonball Z. The Tamashii Buddies line is roughly about half the size of a normal figuarts and is designed for first timer collectors. These mini buddies can be stacked on top of each other or even to the side, so you can organize it anyway you want. Each figure will retail for around $14.99 each and will be available starting November.

The Sailor Moon S.H. Figuarts line continues with Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune in December and January 2015. The Sailor Moon line has done really well in the States and fans can expect more to keep coming.

The S.H. Figuarts line will also include Injustice from the popular video game series and will start with Batman and Joker. Both Batman and Joker will be fully poseable and both will come with special masks that will completly cover their faces (Joker with a gas mask and Batman with this really creepy man bat like mask). The S.H. Figuarts Batman will be available in November with Joker releasing a month later in December with both retailing at $57.99 each.

With San Diego Comic-Con only a few weeks away, the booth concept for Bluefin Tamashii Nations was shown which will have a Japanese style influence and will of course feature the heavily anticipated S.H. Figuarts Vegeta Original Color Edition and the S.H. Figuarts Armored Black Ranger.

Finally we got to see some of the upcoming items in development, and were asked what were some characters we would love to see made (Power Ranger series figures, more Dragonball characters and even more Mega Man characters) which are in development. Bluefin Tamashii Nations is even thinking about a re-issue or new variant of the sold out Zero Version 2.

A fan asked about the much talked about Nappa figure, and would we ever see it released? Earlier in the panel there was a quick slide showing off the upcoming Broly S.H. Figuarts, and it said it is still being talked about but it’s because fans have been very vocal that a lot of characters like Cell have been released.

As for the pop culture figuarts being released, there are still plans to release more like Michael Jackson.
