Orphan Black renewed for third season

Rejoice, fellow Clone Clubbers; Orphan Black has been renewed for a third season!

BBC America announced today that production on another 10 episode season will begin in Toronto in September, with the debut set for sometime in the spring of 2015. This should come as no surprise, considering the consistently stellar performances by star Tatiana Maslany and the rest of the cast. The season 2 premiere captured an audience of 1.24 million in the US and the twists and turns of the season kept fans tuning every week.

Personally, Orphan Black has been my favourite show on television this year. While Cosima’s storyline admittedly saw a drop in interest through the season, the rest of the characters brought us on a wild ride. Alison and Donnie’s relationship blended drama and humour flawlessly, while Sarah’s desperation to protect Kira from an ever increasing threat kept everything grounded as a central storyline. With the revelation of Project Castor in the finale, I can’t wait to see what season 3 has in store.
