The Back to the Future Easter Egg You Never Saw!

Back to the Future

Okay, I know some people may have noticed this movie 30 years ago (has it really been that long?) when Back to the Future first came out, but this easter egg has been making the rounds on the Interwebs, and it blew my mind when I saw it.

Fans of the classic time travel film, Back to the Future, no doubt remember the scene in which Marty McFly and Doc Brown first test the Delorean time machine in the Twin Pines Mall. What they might not recall is that after traveling back in time to 1955, Marty crashes into a barn at a ranch owned by Mr. Peabody. This ranch was called Twin Pines Ranch. While escaping Mr. Peabody and his shotgun, he knocks over one of the eponymous pine trees near the ranch entrance.

Cut to the end of the film, when Marty tries to rescue Doc from the Libyans, and guess what? The mall is now called the Lone Pine Mall!

See the gif recap of these scenes here.

I mean, I remember in Back to the Future 3 when Clayton Ravine was renamed to Eastwood Ravine after “Clint Eastwood” went over the edge in a train. But the Twin Pines/Lone Pine¬†easter egg? I totally missed it.

As Marty might say, this is pretty heavy!
