Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal releases premier trailer

sailor moon crystal trailer

Sailor scouts, brace yourselves: a gorgeous new video trailer for the highly anticipated Sailor Moon reboot was released today, June 5, on YouTube. It features your favorite, original fab five and Luna with stunning art direction reminiscent of its manga roots.

The series is expected to air its first episode on July 5, 2014 via NicoNico, with a simulcast on Hulu, NeonAlley and Crunchyroll. While Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal will start back at the beginning of the story, the producers have assured fans that this will be unlike the original series, and instead will pay homage to Naoko Takeuchi’s original manga — definitely a relief for many true fans of Sailor Moon.

Looking at the video description, new episodes will air once every two weeks, instead of once a week like most series. With the rise of binge-watching and the normalcy of weekly episodic story lines, this concerns me, that maybe this distribution method would lose the interest in its viewers over time. However, with a strong fanbase and seemingly amazing art direction, the new reboot will still enchant people all over.
