Watch Dogs was released last week, and it has already sold 4 million copies. That’s pretty impressive for a new IP and it also sets a new record. According to Ubisoft, the open-world game is the best-selling new IP.

That’s not all, Watch Dogs is also the best first-week sales for Ubisoft, beating out franchises like Assassin’s Creed. (Assassin’s Creed III sold 3.5 million in its first full month.)

With its success, we can expect more sequels to come out in the future.

“With such strong sales momentum and positive feedback from gamers, Watch Dogs has positioned itself as the must-have game of the moment,” Ubisoft senior director of marketing and communications Lucile Bousquet said. “We’re really proud of this achievement, and are confident that the Watch Dogs brand has a promising future.”
