Fanime 2014 definitely worth checking out

Fanime 2014 was the second time I attended the San Jose Convention Center. The last time I attended was back in 2008 working as a vendor and while I had some time to walk around and explore the convention, I didn’t get quite the chance I did this year. While Fanime had the same vibe it had back then, it has really grown and expanded into a fun convention for anime fans to enjoy.

It was a fun community event with a 24-hour arcade and gaming room, along with a pretty big exhibit hall with tons of vendors, a swap meet held on day 0 and day 1 full of goodies, and finally an amazing concert held by Home Made Kazoku. All these made the event worth checking out, leaving me excited to return to Fanime 2015.

You may also see some photos of the special guests of honors doing some drawings and signings of the shikishi boards, which I waited in line a few hours to get but man was it worth it.

The charity auction had a lot of great items donated by the guests of honors, and it raised a lot of money for a good cause. Here are some of the items that were put up for auction which included two shikishi boards from Hiroyuki Kanbe, featuring images of Kuroneko and Kirino, which together raised over $3,000 by fans who really wanted to take the hand-drawn images home.
