Animatronic doll dancer will creep you out

Jordan Wolfson Robot 02
Animated by artist Jordan Wolfson, this impressive robot was manufactured with a chassis that is fairly disturbing. Given a female body wearing lingerie, peppered with scorch-marks and wearing a wrinkled witch mask, this is one of the last things you would want to encounter at a Masquerade Ball.

No longer operating at the David Zwirner Art Gallery in New York, the exhibit space dedicated to Jordan Wolfson ran from March 6, 2014 to April 19, 2014. Fortunately, a handful of people managed to record this accomplishment with their phone cameras so that it would be immortalized on the internet.

If you have noticed, current complex robotics still requires an umbilical in order for it to operate. The umbilical possesses the power and/or control mechanism which allows the robot to simulate mobility and be controlled directly (rather than remotely). Alternatively, as seen in Japan, the robot can be grounded so that an umbilical is not necessary, as type mobility is sacrificed. Pre-programmed commands and smaller robotics allow for remote operation, which is a contrast to larger robotics such as these.
