Love him or hate him, director M. Night Shyamalan will continue to have work in Hollywood. If the thought of a new Shyamalan movie sends shudder down your spine, then perhaps him working on his first TV series will have you end up with your spine actually being removed, Mortal Kombat-style!

Shyamalan serves as an executive producer for Fox’s upcoming show, Wayward Pines, from creator Chad Hodge (The Playboy Club). The series’ got an impressive cast including Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino and Terrence Howard.

The series follows Dillon a Ethan Burke, a secret service agent in a small mysterious town searching for two Seattle office agents who mysteriously vanished. (One includes Carla Gugino as Kate Hewson, one of Burke’s missing partners.) As you can tell, the town is not what it seems, and at the end of the trailer, you see the town being barricaded (just like The Village).

Wayward Pines will be 10-episodes long and will premiere in 2015.

And for those of you saying it’s like Twin Peaks…well, you’re right. Wayward Pines is based on a series of novels by author Blake Crouch, who has admitted that he was inspired by the ’90s TV show. What a twist!
