Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus will arrive on the PlayStation Vita this fall

Last year XSEED Games released a surprise title for fans. Senran Kagura Burst was released for the Nintendo 3DS as a download-only title which followed the story of two rival ninja schools which are led by elite shinobi who are given special missions. The game was filled with over-the-top action and plenty of fan service.

“Ever since we announced Senran Kagura Burst, PS Vita fans have been clamoring for Shinovi Versus and we’re thrilled to be granting them their request,” said Ken Berry, Executive Vice President of XSEED Games. “The Senran Kagura series has such deep and involving lore established through its games, manga and anime, and the fanbase is extremely loyal – we can’t wait for them to get their hands on Shinovi Versus.”

Shinovi Versus is actually sequel to Senran Kagura Burst. Taking place after the events of the first game, the girls from Hebijo Clandestine Girls’ Academy have left and formed a new squad known as the  Homura Crimson Squad, while a new squad is formed at Hebijo, who is ready to prove they are the best. The girls from the Hanzō National Academy are not only faced with their old rivals along with the new members of Hebijo, but also must face the Gessen Girls’ Academy, who seek to punish them for their imperfections as shinobi warriors.

Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus will have 20 playable characters, complete with fast paced action, tons of fan service, and over the top ninja techniques.

And for fans who want a little bit more, XSEED will release a “Let’s Get Physical” retail version of the game, which will include a soundtrack CD and “Shinobi Syllabus” containing profiles of the shinobi students, gameplay strategies, and illustrations.
