Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes sells over a million units

Some would say that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a “glorified demo” and some would probably say, “You should shut your whore mouth!” News came out this week that, through industry analyst David Gibson, the Metal Gear Solid V prologue did surprisingly well in its first month.

Ground Zeroes managed to move 278,000 units in the US. 204,000 of those copies account for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Over in Japan, MGS was able to sell a whopping 340,000 units. Not a bad launch for a game that is roughly two hours long.

It will be interesting to see if other companies follow this model in the future.
