Star Wars Volume Two: From the Ruins of Alderaan (comic)

Star Wars

Star Wars is in the thick of it. In this volume, scripted by Brian Wood, we find our classic favorites in the muck of it. Luke is being hunted by Birra Seah, an agent of Darth Vader who fears Vader more than his allegiance, and is hiding out as a storm trooper on the front lines of the battle. Meanwhile, Han Solo and Chewbacca are hanging with a rogue named Perla in the Millennium Falcon whose ways are strange, but effective. Perla may just have an offer that the Rebellion can’t refuse. Leia is being the ultimate warrior princess whether it’s being in a full-fledged air battle or giving a motivational speech. This girl is the glue that keeps everyone together.

With cover art (Hugh Fleming) that looks like a beautiful watercolor impression that you want to hang in your house while still giving a strong vibe, it seems to show the many sides of war. The battles come alive thanks to the stunning imagery by the arts team, including Carlos D’Anda (art), Gabe Eltaeb (colors), Ryan Kelly (pencils), Dan Parsons (ink), and Michael Heisler (lettering).

I really enjoyed going back to this Star Wars Era. Classic Star Wars fans will enjoy returning to what made us fall in love with this amazing series. Princess Leia is inspiring as the warrior you want on your side. Han Solo is as witty as ever, but this time it’s Luke Skywalker that shines with his brazen bravery. Don’t worry, Han, you still have my heart! For the classic lovers this is a must read, as it expands on all that you already know and love.

This comic, by Dark Horse, is a great way to expand on your Star Wars Mythos!
