Meet all the main characters for Star Wars Rebels

While everyone and their mother is anticipating J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII next December, Disney and Lucasfilm Animation have been hard at work on an animated series to help satiate our Star Wars craving til then. The series takes place between Episode III and Episode IV with Order 66 (hunting down all the Jedi) in full effect.

It will focus on 6 main characters, which also happen to be the crew of the starship Ghost. Lucasfilm Animation has released a few videos to introduce each of these characters. Check them out below:

Kanan Jarrus

He’s one of the few Jedi that survived the Order 66 purge of Jedi Knights. Unfortunately, he was just a padawan when it occurred. He’s voiced by Freddie Prinze, Jr (James Vega in Mass Effect 3) and is considered a “cowboy Jedi.” He pretty much uses ways that are unconventional of Jedi, as well as mentors Ezra in the ways of the Force.

Ezra Bridger

He’s just a street-smart kid that’s been surviving on his own as a thief and con artist on his homeworld of Lothal (located in the Outer Rim). He starts learning his untapped potential of the Force from Kanan, as well as befriending Zeb even though he has trust issues.

Zeb Orrelios

Zeb is the muscle of the crew, but don’t let his brutish behavior fool you, as he’s very intelligent. Him and Ezra become fairly good friends, although he seems to have strong hate for droids, mainly Chopper. Voicing the big tough guy will be veteran voice actor, Steve Blum. Zeb’s race and home planet is unknown, but the series plans to address it at some point.

Sabine is a female Mandalorian with a proficiency in weapons and explosives. She also has a strong affinity to art and graffiti. So pretty much she blows things up and tags them as her calling card.

Hera Syndulla

She is a female Twi’lek that is owner and pilot of the “legally acquired” Ghost. She’s a highly skilled pilot and the proverbial glue that keeps the group together and at their best. Her intentions for hating the Empire are unknown to the group, but we hope that will be eventually revealed.

C1-10P otherwise known as Chopper, is a cranky astromech droid. As much as he may be loyal and heroic, he has a knack for not listening and doing his own thing. He’s a bit rough around the edges, literally. That’s because he’s built from scrap parts from different droids.

Main Bad Guy: The Inquisitor

Little is known about the Inquisitor aside from him being a Sith, as well as wielding a double-sided lightsaber, much similar to Darth Maul’s.

So there you have it, all of the mail characters from the upcoming series. Since the cancellation of the great Clone Wars series, Star Wars fans have been awaiting a new series to fill the void. The series doesn’t debut until Fall 2014, but check out the 2 teasers that have been released so far.
