Capcom and Virgin Gaming launch Money Match service – It’s live now

In the fighting game community, money matches aren’t anything new. Big names and upcoming names take on challengers with money on the line, especially at tournaments. Together Capcom and Virgin Gaming have released a new money matching service that lets you take on opponents online and make money doing it.

It’s pretty simple to set up. You can challenge any opponent you want or find opponents in the Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition lobby and wager money in your match. After the match is complete, you report who won by reporting your match. Virgin Games suggests you prove the results by uploading a picture you take with your camera phone and saving the replay of the match. The service then automatically transfers the money to the winner’s account to use towards your next wager or cash out.

I can imagine it becoming a pretty popular service among the elite gamers and unknown dark horses who are looking to make some extra money. If you want an even better challenge and create your own mini online tournament, the service also features a League mode, allowing up to 32 players to enter a single tournament with the winner taking the pot.

Signing up is easy and payments accepted are Visa/Mastercard or Paypal, so if you think you have the skills to finally pay the bills, this might be something to look into.
