Dave and Buster’s media day for the opening of its first Los Angeles location

It’s amazing to hear that Los Angeles, North America’s second biggest city, is finally getting its first Dave & Buster’s location. Sure, there are other locations outside of L.A. that you can visit, but visiting Ontario, Arcadia, Orange or Irvine is quite the drive in Los Angeles traffic. That is all going to change on February 19, as Dave & Buster’s will be opening its first Los Angeles location at the Promenade at the Howard Hughes Center in Westchester. We were lucky enough to preview the location (and the food) before its grand opening on Wednesday.

Entering D&B you have a choice of going to either the restaurant in front of you, the bar to your left, the billiards room near the sports bar or the arcade behind the restaurant. The restaurant features delicious menu items such as the Cajun shrimp alfredo (my choice meal of the night), the south Philly burger, the fire-grilled salmon, the black jack BBQ ribs and wings and more. Fellow Nerd Reactor writer Chris del Castillo and I had our fair share of food that night and we both can agree that everything we had that night is really good. So no matter what food you order from the menu it’s definitely going to be good.

The bar also has a nice menu of cocktails and drinks. There are a lot of beers on tap but if you’re looking for a cocktail then you can try either the adult snow cone, the D&B TNTea, the CoronaRita, the Million Dollar Margarita or the Lava Flow. Seriously, the Lava Flow and the margaritas are dangerously good. The sports bar also features a massive wall of HDTVs on each side and features a state of the art sound system. So whether you’re watching the Olympics or any sporting event you’re sure to find ample seating with the bar’s ability to seat over 500 guests.

Last, but not least, we have the games.  This location features 170 arcade games and 288 player positions in the Midway along with a billiards room. If you’re lucky enough to get a massive amount of tickets, and trust me I’ve seen a few who’ve won there already, then you can redeem your tickets at the Winner’s circle. There you can get various amounts of prizes ranging from clothing to Xbox Ones to iPad Airs. For obvious reasons, you need to save a LOT of tickets in order to win those extravagant prizes.

Also, if you’re interested in spending your birthday here or getting a work function established here then the Los Angeles location has enough space available for large groups and events, accommodating between 15 to 170 people. You can also rent out the entire venue for exclusive events for up to 1,800 people.

So there you have it Los Angeles, we finally get our own D&B location on Wednesday. But that’s not all! In July, we’ve been told, that Dave & Buster’s will be opening another location in Hollywood at the Hollywood and Highland shopping center. Good news for both Los Angeles and Dave & Buster’s.

The Dave & Buster’s in Los Angeles is located at 6081 Center Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90045. The hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 11:00 am to midnight, and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 am. Those interested in booking an event can contact Gloria Silvestre for details.
